Kako is a creative leader with 20 years of experience helping brands stay at the heart of culture through ideas and craft.
Before going freelance, he helped lead brand creative efforts at Airbnb and Meta, and before that, he worked at acclaimed advertising agencies like TBWA\Media Arts Lab , Wieden+Kennedy or 72&Sunny among others.
Kako brings a hands-on, flexible mindset that adapts to any role, whether leading projects at an executive level, guiding in-house teams, managing agency partners, or rolling up his sleeves to do the creative work himself.
His career began at nineteen, writing for what might have been the smallest TV channel on the planet.
By "small," he means duct-taped Betacams, jerry-rigged flashlights, and a daily news broadcast that opened with the weather forecast, unless rumors broke that the local football star had been caught ordering wine at a bar.
By "writing," he means having eight hours to find something interesting to say, script it, shoot it, edit it on analog equipment, and mix it before going live.
Eventually, he started doing more or less the same thing, just for brands like Airbnb, Apple, Meta, Nike, adidas, Coca-Cola, Call of Duty, Heineken, Sonos, Sony, Smirnoff, Halls, Amstel, and I amsterdam.
Along the way, he has earned multiple top honors, such as the Cannes Lions Grand Prix, D&AD Pencils, One Show Pencils, and an Emmy nomination.
Still, the only trophy sitting on his shelf is the golden pan he earned at the InternationalSpanish Omelette Festival in 2024, which attests to Kako's obsession with slow craft and things made with love.
